I wish they would pave it or at least put down a nice thick layer of imported "stream bed gravel" instead of the razor blade "tire mutilator" gravel on there now. Its funny that there is that 3/4 mile of paved road before the Patriarch Grove. At 11,250 it is the highest paved road in CA!
They could name the parking lot before the gate with the bathroom "Altitude Acclimatization Campground" (11,700 feet).
