As a science undergrad, my prof recommended I study Russian so that I could read the original scientific papers.
Now the USA has no manned space lifting capacity & must rely on the Russians - whose launch is run in English, in a capsule captained by an American astronaut.
I'm confused!
And did you notice that Curiosity was powered by a Russian motor?
